However, an article published recently revealed that these biodegradable materials used by Guardian in their packaging may not be as environmentally friendly as initially thought. Though significant steps have been taken and consumer trends suggest a commitment to more sustainable packaging, there is still major work to be done to reduce the environmental harm that non-biodegradable materials may have on the environment. There is a need for a common regulatory framework for eco-friendly packaging and for clearer labeling.
